Crazy days ahead!!!

Yes that is right..my next 3 heck more like 5 days are going to be non stop!

Starting Friday we will take Austin to school and then go pick up Dan's parents from the airport. Then run an errand on the way to our house. Get Caitlin ready for her dress rehersal for dance. Pick up Austin from school. Get Austin ready for cub scout pack meeting/graduation from Tiger to Wolf. I will miss it :-( cause I am taking Caitlin downtown to dress rehersal. OOo yea fighting downtown Fort Worth traffic on a friday evening during rush hour sounds like fun to me!!! So I will spend about 3-3 1/2 hours there. Drive home and hope we don't forget anything. :-) And soemtime during all of this my mom will arrive.
Then Saturday...which is mine and Dan's 11th wedding anniversary. Do some stuff for Austin's birthday party. Get Caitlin ready for her actual recital. Then the whole crew will make the trip to fort worth for the recital at 6:30pm. Another late night. Nothing exciting for our anniversary.
Sunday....suppose to be a day of rest right....hahahaha not in my house hold! :-) We will hopefully make it to church. Go to lunch for Austin's (my son) 8th birthday!! YIKES!! Make 2-3 dozen cupcakes (may start this on Saturday) and then get the hosue ready for the party. Yes we are having a bunch of 1st graders at the house for a mad science PARTY....they will get to do and make all kinds of stuff. I am excited. Then we will cookout and have lots of birthday fun all evening.
Monday is Austin's big party day at school for th eend of the year. I will spend most of the day there. We are having lunch with him and then I will stay to help with all the party stuff. Tuesday is his last day and he is only there for half a day. So I am sure we will do something special that day too.
Wednesday..I start watching 3 extra kids 2 days a week for the summer. so 5 kids in my house..YIKES. :-) So we will have them and then that evening Mike and Carolynn are taking us to the Midevil times thing. I am sure the kids love it as long as they remember it is pretend! :-)
I am sure I am missing some details about these days..like sleep and eat. :-) But I am sure it will once again be a weekend to remember and cherish. So enjoy your time. And I will see you sometime next week. HAHAHA :-) Wish us luck!

15 yrs ago...

Yes that is right..15 years. Dan and I went on our 1st date. We had a choir banquet and I asked him if he was going. He of course said, "NO". And said, he "didn't get tickets." So I told him I had "an extra one". He said, "well you have a boyfriend"..I then said, "no that is why I have an extra one." "We broke up 2weeks ago" We laughed and he said, "well in that case I will pick you up at 6:30". I was totally not thinking that giving him my extra ticket meant he was going to have to take me, but he had other plans. Lets make it a date. So we walked down the hall exchanging information and giving instructions on how to get to my house. I was on cloud nine! :-)(and nervous) I have known Dan, since 9th grade...where I use to call him "TALL GUY" I am sure you can figure out why. :-) We had a great banquet dinner of BBQ and sweet tea and then afterwards we weren't ready to say good bye. So he took me home I changed and asked to go play minature golf. Then we went to his house for him to change. We had a great time and he said I won, cause I actually got a hole in one. :-D

It is hard to believe it was 15 years ago. Being on that 1st date I would have never guessed we would be married now. BUT I am soooo happy it all worked out the way it did/has! :-) The picture above is of us when we had our Sr. pictures done 3 months after we started dating. So young (17yrs) and skinny. :-)

In 2 weeks we will celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary. WOW how time flies.

Painting

I have been really tired the last few days...so I got a lot of extra sleep and then got a wild hair yesterday to paint my entry way and a few other walls in the house. Dan walked in the door from work and I had it all palnned out. I ran the colors and idea by him. He liked it and we went to Home Depot before headig to church. I walked up to the color wall and instantly saw the color I wanted. My entry way is now a milk chocolate color... or a "Artistic Brown" ...I also accented my fireplace with this color. It is dark, but warms the house nicely. We love it! We are also doing my cross wall in a rich, dark burgandy color. I am ready to paint it now, but I am tired and sore from the painting from last night. We wait until the kids go to bed to do it..so no outside assistance comes in. :-) Which also means a very late night for us. Dan watched a movie after helping with the top while I finished up. I will post pictures later.
